Grim news is eminating from the depths of Kent Messenger group, they have taken a serious hit with a massive downturn in ad revenue..and so, the recession bites! A large organisation like KM can feel the pinch as much as anyone else. Many redundancies are on the cards and also...sadly
the closure of the Dover office of the Dover Mercury.
This means the Dover Mercury will in effect be written elsewhere, an unpalatable thought...and dear oh dear what's to become of legendary newshound the dogged Graham Tutthill?
Cant imagine a town without him churning out the words.
This isnt very good at all. Once again Dover seems to come off worst in all these things, somehow always at the back of the queue for good news.
ITV Regionals are feeling the pinch too and it looks like local TV output will be seriously reduced according to Teletext. Terrible times for the news/media business. If ITV reduce their local output any further or spread their coverage any wider they willl cease to have any local meaning.
