    That's the point: the free buses were an initial inducement to hook people - once they succeeded and the town centre was reduced, no more need for free buses.....! people the n have to pay to get there as the only realistic option. I do believe it is, not sinister, but well planned, dirty and not in the best interests of proper living and towns. Those large superstores suck the life out of a place in a calculated and planned way in order to take over, and because we don't quite believe people work that way we go along with it becaue it is "cheap" or "convenient". Well, it may be so now, but when we have genuinely no alternatives, we will see the prices rise and the convenience and choice drop. Once hooked, there will be no return, as all the small shops and town centres will have gone beyond return.
