Sadly, DDC is having to remove a number of ageing beech trees in Crabble Athletic Ground that are at risk of falling – work starts today and any removed trees are to be replaced with a variety of native species.
This follows a recent study carried out after one of the trees in the grounds fell and caused damage to a neighbouring property. Experts found that some of the trees presented a high risk, and works were recommended, including the removal of these over-mature trees.
We have written to residents in the immediate area, and we apologise for any disruption or inconvenience caused during the works.
