Keef have deleted your other thread as requested so just one now. Gawd that was a swift departure. Clearly the guys who left have no emotional attachment to Dover whatsoever..even Hess clearly showed no concern for Dover at all by taking their new manager.

The chair of DAFC is rightly fuming according to there web site.
Having let Hess go, and Hess giving a gd CV to the- chair on HESTON then Hess takes him as his number 2 at Gills.
Although the DAFC has a new manager he will be announcing soon he must be upset.
As Jimmy greaves once said;
IT'S A FUNNY OLD GAME "

all very sad, hessenthaler was quite rightly hailed as a hero for dover athletic.
when he left for a better job there was no ill feeling, now it seems that he has done the dirty on his old job.

HOWARD
It does seem so, and sounds at the time as though Dover ath kept to there side and were all ready for the new season.
the chairperson of Dover FC must be fuming, as they had helped to make a smooth transaction both with HESS leaving and this guy joining.
Sad for Dover realy, now they have to pick up the pieces and go back to those rejected applicants last time round and see if they can pick someone else up, that person knowing they were not picked last time so a second choice.
I THINK this time the Dover chairperson will tie any new manager into a longer contract to stop the same thing happening again.

Martin Hayes the ex Arsenal player has been appointed as new Manager, hope he lasts a bit longer than Hendon

Keith, DAFC has a CHAIRMAN. The official website and unofficial fans forum all proclaim Jim Parmenter as CHAIRMAN of DAFC. Please get his title correct if you can.
As for Ian Hendon, well, I got slated on the UFF for saying he wasn't the man for us, no real track record in management other than almost getting Barnet relegated. Well it looks as though I was right, but for the wrong reasons!
I hope for our sakes JimP is a bit luckier with his choice of replacement and the good times continue to happen.

SID;
On the less important issue of CHAIR asa Isay its a matter of opinion, and your no more correct than I (If you follow p[aulb's definition.
Anyway it's not important in the scale of things today.
On the appointment, yes Dover now needs some stability now, and that Dover reaches those dizzy heights under this new manager.
I wish him well
Keith, it is important from the point of view that it is the recognised and official title of James Parmenter, Chairman of DAFC. You insult him by buggering about, in a PC style, his official title.
I too hope Martin Hayes can bring continued success to Dover Athletic FC, although I am concerned about his network being up to the task of getting us players of a higher calibre than those we already enjoy watching. Only time will telll I guess.

how about chair?
i love that phrase "everyone must speak through the chair", usually means everyone is speaking through another outlet.
de Bradlei Wharf perhaps, that's an outlet! Chair is not aterm used by Jim Parmenter, any of the Board of Direcotrs or fans, so I think it is wrong to use a PC term in this instance.
It is partly what PC is all about, changing something nobody wants changed.
