  much as i agree with your comments about national insurance payments, this was a fraud perpetuated by both major parties.
  
  i was told clearly when i first started work, i was informed that n.i.(a large chunk of my 6 quid a week) was an investment in my pension.
  
  30 years later i was told gleefully that was never the case, each contribution i had made was to cover existing state pensions.
  
  then later i was told that there were not enough current taxpayers to cover for me when i needed it.
  
  
  can you imagine a private company coming out with stufflike that?
