Hi Paul the article was in the letters page of the DE.
Unfortunatly the carnival will suffer because of the 6pm start. I am 99% certain that marching bands who normally visit will not be able to attend as one in particular has a 6+ hour coach journey home. We have also lost pre schools and nursery groups as the much later finish for teeny ones is just to much.
I am hopeful that we can still have a decent parade, but we shall just have to wait and see.
I am disappointed naturally. the Age-concern ladies have become a fixed part of the parade, and the crowds love to see these ladies, as do we at DCAL. They show a great pride, community spirit, and that carnival is for all ages.
I shall miss them
