    Doubtless there is no way of knowing, or at least checking, of how much trouble garden waste collection is, or what use, if any, is made of the stuff by a council or their contractor?
    Round here I have never heard of such a thing, but food waste is collected from some areas. Our council has 'awarded' bulk composting gizmos* to groups that have a use for them;allotments and the like.

    *A long canvas tube on a frame, as I recall.(I cannot lay my hands on the paper just now nor find it online..). However I did find this article about freesheets (ours) and the local press. From the FT...
