Regarding Deal Pier, when is someone going to put the clock right at the landside end of it? It's a source of great annoyance and incredulity to locals that it's been over an hour behind for months and months and months. Surely someone with the, ahem, authority to commission a bloke with a ladder ('elf and safety minefield I know, but worth the life-threatening risk) could get someone to put the blinking time right?

Also, just in front of the clock, the fisherman's statue has for I reckon a year been ringed by three unsightly traffic cones, leaving it looking, frankly, rubbish.

If there are small holes or whatever that these doughty cones are covering then, er, can't someone with the authority etc (see above) get someone to fix them? I'm sure these holes aren't so lethal that some wandering tourist drone or iPod-addled chav or chavette would fall down them and then sue the a*se off whichever 'negligent' buffer or buffette was responsible for their non-upkeep.

Once again: it's all about perception...get the small aesthetic things right (paint over chipboard shopfronts etc - where's 'Spirit of Deal', by the way???) in our towns to create the right vibe for the bigger projects.
