Howard, do you know what will replace it? I haven't seen a planning application. Some nice small to medium family houses would be nice, but I suspect flats are more likely.

I've heard they're starting new buddleia plantations to replace those that were tragically vandalised in the St. James areea.

Wasn't the site of these flats originally earmarked to be car park for the new hospital?

Seems that the seller believes that Dover is unable to provide a suitable estate agent, so much for our supporting local businesses.

apparently folkestone is 11 miles away so the whoever wrote the ad must drive slowly or have very short strides as it always seemed about 6 miles to me.

Demolition has started on the Harold Street flats. Or someone has stolen the roof.
How long has the building next to the doctor's in Folkestone Road been gone? I didn't think it was in that bad a condition. What's replacing it, flats?

As a slight aside, Bill Muge was my primary school headmaster at Charlton. In later life he was quite deaf and was chairman of the hard of Hearing Club. He was Mayor twice and was a jolly nice chap.

139/141 Folkestone Road have been demolished so that a convenience store and chemist can be built on the ground floor, with a number of (medical) facilities/consulting rooms, on the first floor.
It will be the same design as the White Cliffs Medical Centre next door.

3 chemists Howard ?
The portacabin chemist in the grounds of the medical centre will be taken away when the new facility is opened.
Brian and his Mum contacted me prior to it coming to the Planning Committee and attended the Planning Committee too. I can assure you they were not happy Howard.

I'm sure the new convenience store will adversely affect Halls as will the new "proper" chemist on Grace's chemist.
Halls have been there for 40 years, so I do hope it can continue; most times competition is good for customers, but can be a struggle for small businesses.

The 1st block in Harold Street is now a pile of rubble. Rix Scaffolding are working on a 2nd block today. Wonder why the block in between is being left inhabited?
