So who is exactly guilty of locking people into poverty?
Who is guilty of creating an underclass of benefit claimants?

It is every single person on here defending the failed welfare system.

You do not get people out of poverty with hand-outs. Only work can achieve that and the system we had locked people into a cycle of benefits.

It is totally unfair that people who work and pay their taxes are no better off, of worse off, than if they would be if on benefits.

Last year benefits rose three times faster than wages - that is wrong. Benefits should now be frozen for 3 years at least.

The IDS reforms are overdue but still not enough.

It is good to see that people who can work are being forced back into work and off benefits. It is a start in getting some balance back into the system.
