  We use those little plastic poo-bags that attach to the dog leads. They're cheap, very easy to use, clean, and simple, so no dog owner has an excuse not to pick up their dog poo. I recently saw a "chav" lad walking his trophy Staff terrier like it was some sort of weapon of mass destruction through town, and when it stopped for a crap he just laughed and carried on. I don't think that dog owners on the whole are the problem, as most seem to be responsible, but it does seem to be a dumb-ass handful of idiots that give all of us a bad name. Like most things.
