Thank you for your comments Keith, sorry I couldn't rescue you !
We can all say thank you to who ever we feel helps Dover, or who works as a volunteer in whatever field.
Yesterday I heard from a Lady informing me that her husband had just died; I always liked him, he was a good chap but was very poorly and had a progressive illness.
While he was at home, she was caring for him and doing volunteer work for people; now he's passed away, she's going to spend a little time for herself, then go back to volunteering.
She is one of many many people who give their time unpaid to helping others.
One point to remember though in all of this, is that they must be able to afford (money-wise) to do this, as they don't look for paid-work.
Thank you Marek - dubious political leanings indeed.
I do my best; like many people, I love Dover and want to help it move forward. I am talking to businesses of one sort or another every day, finding out what their problems are and if I can, picking them up and running with them until they're resolved - and I'm pleased to say, I've had some successes.
It's not easy to get those successes working on your own - as an individual, so the brick-dust builds up on your forehead after a time.
