Where is it ..where is that invite!!? lost forever on a sea of apathy. Well we would have liked to go to this as it was a big event in the local social calender and as a website that's what we do. We bring words and pictures of all and sundry for the dover citizenship to see...where they might not otherwise see. But no...no invitation.
A colleague was asked by a Dover Express reporter this very morning why we werent there. Well isnt that a mystery? Was it organised by the Town Council again, as it was on their premises, if thats the case we often get left off their invites as a matter of course. So, no its not the first time. When we approach them afterwards they always have some bumbling excuse.
Yet we are there, very often the only ones, to photograph them at their various functions and duties. Just a week or so ago we captured their colourful march towards the St Marys Church for the Mayor's service...and very happy they were too to be photographed. You can see it on the main menu Picture Page News 7.
Well something between three or four thousand views would have hit that page and Im sure the Dover Express would have liked that..but there we are.
Well I dunno... its a mystery. Everyone loses...

I have to say that when I heard about it I just asked, and a pleasant evening it was too. But I will remember you next time Colette.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

i only knew that there was an exhibition, because there was a banner outside the town council offices that could be seen coming from the town hall towards town.
not aware of any shindig.
do we know for sure who arranged everything?

No need to pick on the DTC every time! It was a private event organised by and invites sent by the DE.

We only provided the venue. Off the top of my head, and apart from the Express staff, there was Bern Butcher, Roger Walkden, David Hannent, Diane Smallwood, Sue Jones, Charlie Elphike, Ed Connell and his very good lady, Nigel Coller, Mike Webb and myself. I am sure that I have forgotten quite a few and I apologise to them.

It would have been lovely to invite you all but there were limited invites, some from the office and some from the editor. I'm afriad I went a bit mad and put plus guest on my first ones and then found out this counted towards the numbers, so apologies. (Although Jan was sent one so thought PaulB might be plus guest!!)

Yes Terry all being well I will be there and take a few inobtrusive pictures. Thanks for the original tip. Didnt want to go rowing in without some sort of official blessing however minor!
There are a whole raft of people who look in at our front page picture features who have no interest in taking part in debates or forums or whathaveyou, so its those readers that we need to cater for as it were and not let down.
