The construction of the bascule bridge over the Wellington Navigation Channel continued this week.
The two towers that support the bridge lift mechanism were lowered and fixed into place on the western side of the navigation channel. The new Marina Control Office is beyond.

Wellington Navigation Channel. The bascule bridge towers can be seen but the bascule bridge itself is obscured from this view by the temporary road bridge (coloured blue) that currently carries work traffic.
