DDC Planning have today announced that the decision meeting for the contentious McDonalds drive in foodery in Townwall/Woolcomber Street will be held at the council offices on Thursday 19th December. That is to say giving just one week's notice of a very controversial plan to be held only one week before Christmas Day when most people are preparing for the holidays. In view of the level of objections, might it not have been better to allow more notice for a meeting timed in early January? It remains to be seen whether the local press will have had sufficient time to report today's information before the event. This surely will be one of the most significant future affecting decision the DDC will have made in many a long year.Does the present timing therefore not sound just a tad contrived?
