  Was sad to see today that the Kent Messenger Group are closing down their operation in Dover. All personel are gone elsewhere it seems, save for the lonely figure of stalwart reporter Graham Tutthill, who will continue on there in solitary confinement for the time being.
  
  This is very bad news for our local prestige apart from anything else, as Dover is already feeling the pain from the recession with a number of different outfits closing. The Dover Mercury was always a fixture in this town and from my point of view had an input in what I did here, in a number of ways, so very sad to see the local office go.
  
  Hard to imagine such an organ as a Dover Mercury continuing to be significant without a presence in the town it represents.
