I don't really understand much about the way towns manage to secure funds etc for events and things going on around and about, but a lot of our spare family time has been spent in Folketone this year. They have numerous events on the Leas Cliff and also at the coastal play area/amphitheatre below. The harbour area is alive with people attracted by the farmers market and small cafes. Yesterday there were crowds of people over there, both down at the Harbour and in the town centre itself where there is also a small market. When we returned home, our town in contrast was dead.
We also have beautiful areas and locations in Dover but there is not a lot to attract people to them on a sunny weekend.
