11:5710531Kevin Lyne KCC's Regeneration supremo was in Dover on Friday & confirmed he was signing off for approval the Dover Priory scheme with some modifications.
People will be aware there has been a hold up on this scheme due to Network Rail reducing significantly their original agreed contribution to the scheme.
The scheme in its original consultation form is modified, I understand by blacktop surfacing covering rather than granite set paving on some of the road areas & removal at this stage of the bus stop canopy. The canopy will be picked up & installed at a later date by Network Rail.
I don't think it will be long before the work gets underway-don't know a date.

00:1310545Fantastic news. Does anyone know of why all the work that has been completed on the station has not been used?
On another thought this work should be fully completed when the hourly Javelin rolls in.

08:4910548Paul, that's the point. The funding also includes EU cash for HST projects.

17:0910568This is certainly good news.
With a revamped station and surroundings, it should have been a golden opportunity to help raise the standard of the Priory part of the ward; my main concern is the quality of housing in and around the lower end of the Folkestone Road and Clarendon area.
Converting quality houses to tiny boxes is a guaranteed way not to improve the area and will not do anything to help the residents have a peaceful lifestyle, or attract new, decent folk here.
