18:1212358This appears to be a French initiative. The management of Eurotunnel are French nowadays as I remember and they seem to be the ones driving it forward along with Calais. Good luck to them with the initiative as it could benefit us all.

09:3312418This is something that DDC started bqack in 2003 when the Conservatives came to power, but I believe it was put on the back-burner whilst the regeneration programs were being worked on.
If World Heritage Status is granted, there are severe restrictions on what can be done.
I must admit though that it didn't stop Canterbury's regeneration a couple of years ago.
