Thanks for all your comments and very many thanks to all those wonderful people who helped in many ways giving their valuable time - it is greatly appreciated.

I too would like to pay tribute to Bill Newman who has played an outstanding roll for many years - I said to Bill, and indeed Terry Birkett who lost his Deal seat, after the results were announced, that I was sorry and wished them both well for the future.

Now the work starts - already there is a pile of forms from KCC to fill in and a lengthy list of meetings and inductions in Maidstone to get to grips with but I won't be needing a second home - tee hee.

For those of you who know my mother, she is over the moon with the results and had a tear with me over the phone on Thursday as it is the first election campaign that she has not been able to help me with due to her serious illness last year that has made her slow up as many of you will know.

I would publically like to thanks all those who helped with the campaing in any way - they know who they are without me naming them and the crew in the Conservative Office who have worked their butts off getting all the literature printed, folded and prepared for distribution.

In fact the Conservatives now hold all seven seats at Kent County Council in the Dover District Council area with Julie Rook and Kit Smith taking Deal & Walmer, 'Aussie Steve' (remember him from the old forum days) Manion winning the Dover North seat while Leyland Ridings (Sandwich) and Bryan Cope (Dover West) held their seats, so we intend to work closely with Paul Watkins and the others at Whitfield to see how best we can all work together to move Dover forward

Now, we look to the biggy when Gordon calls it - we are ready to get Charlie Elphicke into Westminster.
