    Thank you, Brian and Roger.

In the Dover Express this week is an interview with Mrs Collor, Nigel's mum, whose brother Don is amongst those to be remembered on the new plaque. It's a moving article, and truly encapsulates how much this means to the relatives and friends of our lost Dovorians, who keep the memory of their loved ones close to their hearts always.

The updating was by request of a number of relatives, whom Simon and I had been visiting since the beginning of the Dover War Memorial Project (DWMP) on Remembrance Day 2005. We took the request for updating to the Council, who resolved in 2006 that the Memorial should be updated every three years. We submitted names in 2007, and resubmitted with further names in 2009. The Council reviewed the names and began the process of updating. They and the Staff really deserve thanks because they have been absolutely superb in organising the new plaque (fitted by Ivor Spencer), and in arranging the dedication service.

The list of names for the new plaque, plus a template and a first picture of the plaque in Ivor's workshop, may be seen on the DWMP website (www.doverwarmemorialproject.org.uk - look for "More Information" on the "Casualty Index" page, and in "Latest News").

The Dover War Memorial Project is now keeping a new list of names (viewable on the website) for the update in 2012.
