  Last night I ended up doing backing vocals for Ray Lewis of The Drifters who was giving a guest performance at an 'Evening with Joe Egan' - ex-boxer and Mike Tyson's sparring partner. It was such an honour; Ray has a tremendous voice (unlike me!)

  As a old boxer myself I would have like to have been there myself, and I sing aswell.

  Joe Egan is such a sweetheart, I've met him once before. He has such a lovely soft Irish accent and some great stories to tell about his boxing days.

  Certainly get around in your tea-break Jeane - well done.

  Great stuff again Jeane..you certainly get about in your lunchbreak as Roger says. I wouldnt like to be meetin' that big Oirish fella in a dark alley so I wouldnt.

  Ha ha ha....yes I'm very lucky I do get to go to some inyeresting places and meet some wonderful people. The Drifters have been going for years and I really like all the old hits - Saturday night at the movies, Up on the roof (my fave), Save the last dance for me, Stand by me etc. Apparently they have had 62 members over the years!
  
  Joe Egan is a tough guy in the ring but the total opposite out of it, he's really lovely. I have met him before and was delighted that he actually remembered me and where we had met.

  Ah! The Drifters, sweet memories of yesteryear and Joe Egan, two great names from the past and glad they are still with us, Jeane it must have been a great night crooning and sparring into the early hours.
