David it saved £6000.Different people in the community were invited each year.I attended many and I can honestly say I usually came home not having eaten a strawberry or had cup of tea.I spent the whole time introducing different people to each other.No names but there was always a group who never mixed.I suppose like me you think the Mayor Making bun fight should go .Same old faces each year.
My guests at the Garden party ranged from Bus drivers ,Our Post master an old war hero,people who serve the community or had in the past.
Great mistake cancelling a lovely event .Still Labour Councillors used to attend....o
