I'll give Labour some credit, they got rid of garden parties, the epitome of self important nobodies eating and drinking at taxpayer's expense for absolutely no purpose. Well done the Labour party.
Interestingly, after taking control of Deal Town Council, the Labour Group have done away with the parsimony of the previous administration, and at Saturday's Charter Day, instead of the usual sandwiches and a cup of tea, are offering a slap up sit down meal to the assembled dignitaries (sic). To quote from my invite:-
'This year’s Charter Day will take place on Saturday 15th October at 1pm at Trinity Church Deal. The Mayor has asked me to contact you and ask if you intend to come as we need to confirm the catering arrangements as soon as possible. Please can you confirm whether or not you will be attending the service and the lunch and if you will be bringing a guest by Monday 12th September.'
I have declined the invitation. You can tell a man by the company he keeps etc!
