Sadly its a reflection on what Dover has become and the direction it is headed. DTIZ is great for port traffic passing through but does little for residents or promoting the town as a visitor location. Many years ago people would come from Deal and Sandwich to shop in Dover high street which was very busy but now it is on its last legs and DTIZ has accelarated this.

Although most people have written of the future of traditional high streets, I am not convinced. I think the towns which have kept their high streets will eventually reap the rewards. Nostalgia is a potent force and just might give the cash in hand lithuanian delivery person chucking your online order over a fence, a run for their money.
