  Yes the government are fast-tracking nuclear power through...as I think the realisation has finally dawned that we are not going to have enough energy for our needs within a relatively few years.
  
  Yes I believe the local people who were featured recently on TV want the latest power station in Dungeness but although the TV programme featured people who want it, for employment reasons,you can bet your life there are others who just as vociferously dont want it.
  
  The lobby against any kind of power structure is always very strong. They couldnt even build a relatively harmless windfarm locally, so sadly in general terms, apart from those who want the jobs, we are a nation of NImbys(although I must admit I suffer from the same affliction myself!)
  
  This time though the government are not having any of it...and are fast tracking these latest structures through planning. Thats as I understand it anyway.
