(Andy thinks to himself : "Careful not to be a 'Xenophobic Tw*t' (unquote) here"....)

It seems fairly clear an issue to me - you either accept that foreign residents have the right to decide on the taxes they pay and the laws of the land they have taken up residence in, or you think that the way Great Britain should be taxed and governed should be open only to the indigenous people. If you think the former, then that is an opinion I do not share with you; if you think the latter, then I believe you're only acting as any native inhabitant should. Try emigrating to any Arabic country, any East European country or for that matter to the USA and telling them that you'd like to have a say in the running of their country to see what sort of response you'd elicit. Quite rightly, imho, you would be told where to get off - exactly as it should be: if you take up temporary immigrant status, you implicitly agree to be governed by the laws and fiscal policies of that country's government and if you don't like it, don't go there. If you become a citizen of that country, that's an entirely different matter, but that's how I see for temporary status.

Those of you who disagree with me are perfectly entitled to do so, but try to keep personal insults to a minimum this time. Please.
