  If this is the original site it would be a shame to move it. If the hedge behind could be cut it would open the shelter up and make it harder to hide inside and carry out the vandalism. Whether the owners of the hedge would want it cut is another matter of course! Is there a light in the shelter? Might it be worth installing one if not? And perhaps a board with information on the history of the shelter could alert people to its significance.
