sorry vic that joke is nearly as old as the one that went around in the seventies.
namely that they were making brian clough england coach, taking his teeth out and putting 52 seats in.

Howard, I did hear that one but it is rude in my way of thinking.
But Brian Clough now there was a manger.

the only english manager with the qualifications seems to be roy hodgson, i doubt that he would be interested now.
harry redknapp is a quality manager, but as soon as he would appointed all the tabloids would run with his past financial dealings.

Very true, Howard. From a personal point of view, though, I couldn't care less about that - I just want to see English football played with skill, pride and pace. I believe Harry Redknapp could do that, as could Ian Holloway. I accept that Olly won't get a look in, though.

andy
ian holloway is still learning his trade and has not dealt with premier league stars yet, doubt if he would get the respect of the players, one to look out for in the future though.
seems like roy hodgson has agree terms with liverpool, so if capello goes it is probable that we will get another overseas manager.
You would think it an easy matter to appoint the most successful English manager to the job. Trouble is, currently that honour rests with the "Wally with the Brolly"!
Whatever happens in the future I sincerely hope they remove Cris Waddle from his broadcast duties. The guy can hardly string a sentence together and when he does, you can't understand what he has said.
