So tell me, how does American rubbish, Rage Against the Machine song called "KILLING IN THE NAME" save the British music culture. I might give you some credit if it was a good British artist with a good song, standing in its own right without a hate campaign.
Cowell and X Factor do not get the No 1 spot each year on their own Rick, they get there because people purchase the record. Over the years of X Factor like it or like it not some of these artists are now world known artists in their own right so how is that killing the British music culture. Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke are two of those artists, like them or not that are hitting top spot and who are British.
I have no axe to grind as I have purchased none of the records over the years and I would not care if the reality shows stopped tomorrow. However I do think that there should not be a HATE campaign that stops any record getting to No 1, that in its self will do harm to the music industry. No 1 spot should be on the merit of the music and the general public's genuine desire to hear that music.
I just wonder if the same attitudes would be on here, if a member of this forum got on X Factor, did well, got through all the stages to the final and then won it. I just think there may be a few different threads then. Dover Forum singer wins X Factor, I can just imagine the write ups.
