Perhaps they haven't saved the British music culture in one blow, but if Rage being at #1 this Christmas has dealt the first blow in a rebirth of some credibility in the music industry, fair play to them. I have to say that I think the record is crap, but then so was Joe McTwaddle's, albeit for entirely different reasons.
Is it a rebirth, though? Somehow I doubt it - the MOR crowd will be back with a vengeance in 2010, you can bet your bottom dollar. Cowell and his motley band of culture assassins have too much invested in their machine to pull the plug just yet. What I want to know is where decent rock music has gone to........
