Well I have to say its justice served.
No it won't save the state of British music. Its not even about if you like Rage against the machines song (for the record I do and I bought it first time round in the 90's) its more about the protest and the fact that fecking Cowell is not getting it all his way this year.
What it has done is to highlight the fact that there is an amazing amount of souless factory created acts that the large majority of the Bristish music buying public don't like and even the largest marketing machines cannot 'buy' the success.
Sony however are quids in as they are the record company behind both acts.
There is however a real irony in the whole thing theres a line in the RATM song that goes:
F**k you I wont do what you tell me
Well erm..................... opps
