I was at the rememberance service today and it was both moving and pleasing to see how many people there were there, of all ages, to remember the sacrifices of our great service men and women. It was a good service, with Terry's commentary and music helping to keep it in tone, and it was also a time to recall why they died, and continue to die, fighting for our way of life. Because of their sacrifice we are able to live in a free society, with the rights to express our own opinions, question those in authority and continue our own struggles to improve our lives. It does not serve their memories well to say we should forgo those rights in their honour.
