  anyone know what the fire is up folkstone road? Lots of appliances going up there

  Close to the entrance to Dover Priory but apparently put out now. Road closed.
  
  It's like living in the Bronx. Always some trauma going on.

  We went into the petrol station and then tried to turn up Folkestone Road but it is still cordoned off at the (train) station and that was about 3.15 or so.

  yes thanks Terry,I just whipped to pick up the lottery money as I came out by the Priory Hotel I saw smoke,saw a man coming down the stairs of next door (the police were already at the house on fire) as they had just left the train station.
  
  A lady and her son were in he house next door and I told them to get out,and although it took a few mins because the son was in the shower,I helped them out and when the police had finished with them and her husband had turned up I took them over to the buffet where they supplied drinks and something to eat.
  
  Yes that is the second time in a about a year I was in the right place at the right time.Th ladies house and even the next one had lost some of its roof and there would be water and smoke damage,but thankfully the young family and the man in the top flat were ok.
  If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

  You'll have to permanently be on your bike John, just in case there's someone you can rescue; you could apply for a job at the fire-service, not as a fire man of course, but as a rescuer.

  Yes that John Goodwin is a bit of a rescue star. A one man rescue service and brilliant with it. This is the second fire rescue. Ian is right re the telephone box phenomenon!Superman on a bicycle.

  Had a chat with a few forumites tonight down at the market square and we would all like to know the same thing John.

  Busy Ian Busy,62hrs on nights,5 meetings switch on helping Jeanette and Phil,saves coming back for mulled wine and mince pies so I gave them out.And the answers to your questions are no,I don't wear underpants at all,and my bike hasn't got a saddle.
