A fire has broken out in the chalk pit at Winchelsea, it looks as though it is the tyre place, thick black smoke sailing down Folkestone Rd, I don.t know if its routine but an ambulance is in attendance

It must be the garage place at the Chalk Pit, fire dying down now, police have been to residents in Winchelsea Terrace to keep windows closed

no smoke now, my neighbour took a video of it, said that fire fighters had trouble getting to the source.
We live opposite Winchelsea Road. All clear now. Appartently there is a plastic recycling facility up there and they make dashboards out of the recycled stuff. It seemed as though they were having to pump water from hydrants on Folkestone Road although later the flood van turned up!
