Well I must say that the D.D.C. are geting +s from me,they have help or done it themselves, some great events in the District and in Dover over the last few years and this year they have even done better ,never will we see a Rolls-Royce Celebration like we had this year, and this weekend is also looking very good.
We also have the open Golf Championship to look forward to and at last we see events around the Big Screen,I was against it from the very first but it will work in the summer weeks if they going to put good events around it and the weather holds out,and the Making waves on the Dover,s Esplanade is also a one off and we will see the outside Dover public coming in to see it,but it must be look after and the DHB must police it over 24hours or it will not stay like it is now.
Also we must have the Tolets open up again along the front this is a must I will be writing to both the DDC and the DHB about it and you all must do the same.Also if the plans for the River Dour Cycle Route is done that is a+ but one thing if that does happen alot more work and policing of the River needs to be done and a good start to that is if the District call in our own Ian he is just waiting to get back to helping out with that.It also would help if they put up more CCTV on the front and along parts of the River.
And it it good to see tthat the District council are Supporting local groups this is one thing the Town council have been doing for some years now.And the Dover Museum is one of our big + love going in there and the family days which I have seen working are good.I know that there is not alot of cash about but I would like to see town Inspectors who would be going round and keeping a eye open and taking notes and then report back to both councils on what they see ,and this could be done by unpaid members of the public with both councils backing.
As you know I am at this time working with trying to bring new events to our Town Centre and the Dover College is right in the Town Centre so any events we put on there will also help the town,at this time the headmaster does support this and is agreat help,I know he is moving on next year,but the College is not so I know that the support will still be there.
