Blimey, did you hear last night, theres a break away formula 1 group next season and 8 leading companies/sponsors have joined this new group, whats going to happen to this racing?
Some leading drivers also joined this new group,
can 2 groups survive I suspect not, which one then will survive?
I know this new group has been giving warning shots for some time that they will break aWAY if problems don't get resolved, now looks like they have carried out that threat.
wonder what furture holds for formula 1 racing

Keef years ago in motorcycling at Grand Prix level a breakaway group was formed to do the Grand Prix. It was led by Barry Sheene amongst others. It didnt survive for long. There were then and are today too many contracts already in place right across the globe for the new break away group to survive...they would need huge finance behind it. The kind of finance already in place in formula one. But who knows for sure, but I would bet on formula one surviving as it is, but with adjustments... but the ball is in the air.
The Max Mosley scandal hit many teams much worse than is realised, remember these races go to parts of the world much less tolerent than ours. Catholic countries, Muslim countries and so on....they are not too impressed by the image of jackbooted nazis fornicating with prostitutes, and certainly not impressed with one of these cavorters as the race figurehead.

the fia seem pretty certain that they are on safe ground in taking legal action action the rebels.
the sport cannot afford to be split, hope they reconcile differences soon for the sake of the people that follow it.

I love the sport but it looks like money is a lot of the problem apart from rule changes and the side issues

Just heard that formula 1 now all kissed and made up, and now will be no break away group.
Probably best for motor racing.

Yes all kissed and made up but not without a head on the chopping block. The head in question being none other than the tarnished Max Mosley, actual a relation to that original Mosley. Cant rememebr for sure but I think its his son. Anyway au revoir Max..bon voyage!

PAULb
Max is the Black Shirted son of Oswald Mosely.
Secondly he will only step down if the breakaway group keep their end of the bargain. He said that he had no reason to doubt that they would but kept his options open if they didn't.

I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)
