I went there this week with my Grandkids ,what the D,D,C, have done there is great even I wanted to have ago but none of the kids would let me on,It was full up with their mums even got tents up you can take your own food etc and sit in them. There was just one small group doing what they should not do,and the mums went over and stoped them, but the very good thing was after they had done that, even other kids went up to the same group and told them off to.We had a very good time ,and again it is a very good place to take the whole family and you can get food and drink there to and hire bikes for the family at alow cost, get yourself over there and join in the fun.And the big +must be you will cross over the brige that I help to build and fit it on site aswell
I doubt I'll ever get to go to Fowlmead as it isn't dog freindly. I like to take the mutt with me on such journeys. Talking of which, walked her down to the end of the pier today but the cafe was still closed. I thought there was going to be an announcement about its new owners/renters soon?

You can take your dog there, you see them I think you have to keep them on a lead,As for the cafe Andy knows more about this then myself but it was going to be taken over but in the end they pulled out.

The Aventure playground is great and well used. what has DDC got to do with it Vic?
Loads of dogs over there Sid, why is it not dog friendly?

Gary Sorry I was thinking that the DDC put it there am I wrong then?
Because, as I understand it, and Vic seems to confirm, dogs have to be kept on a lead. I like to give the mutt a bit of a run off the lead, but perfectly controlled of course.

i feel sure that fowlmead was a government(quango) invention, would not swear to it though.
sid
you are only saying that it is not dog friendly because you were politely asked to leave after your pitbull ate those children.

You could very well be right with that one Howard,I do not know, but it was very well done who ever paid for it.As I said we build the bridge and placed it and got paid and I just thought that the D.D.C. done it.

Fowlmead is managed by Intercrop Ltd, on behalf of SEEDA. Fowlmead is managed as a Country Park with related leisure and sporting activities.
http://www.seeda.co.uk/_foiresponses/R00221___Disclosure.pdfBeen nice knowing you :)
So, what happens when SEEDA gets the well deserved axe?

Paul aka Scotchie, is correct, the park is still owned by Seeda, Intercrop is the management team and it was Mark Killmurray, Education Manager who got the Adventure Play area up and running. I believe Seeda have actually gone now but the take over will take over a year, so I am told.
