  Given it is a on top of a gravel spit & the eastern arm of the Dour, they most certainly are not fracking probably doing core samples ahead of a planning application

  Maybe so, but I'm inclined to agree with Ross. The taking of core samples was SOP for dealing with a brownfield site, such as the Eastern Docks, especially where there had been many changes of use over time and the documentation was not 100%.
