    My initial reaction was that the hygiene issue was just a fig leaf and 30 years ago the same would have been said [by these type of bigots] about turbans.

    I also read 'muslim convert' as someone who was not an immigrant but a French national. Maybe I was making assumptions. Let's not make assumptions yeah and live and let live eh.
