  There is now a serious investigation being called for into the use of Phosphorous weapons by the Israelis. These weapons, while still indeed legal, are only supposed to be used in open battlefields. Phosphorous burns the skin and sometimes penetrates right through to the bone. The shells explode above the ground and the white phosphorous therefore spreads itself over a wide area. It is not supposed to be used in a built up civilian city situation as obviously then members of the public, women kids etc suffer these horrendous injuries. The BBC have reported a number of times that these weapons were being used. The Israelis dont seem sure as to whether they were or not.
