  Yes Sue i recall all that in my 25 years!!!
  
  Both kings very effective in diffrent ways, but work got the better of them, as they couldnt devote the time required of them at that time.
  
  Still see Mary king each day nearly walking grand children around my area
  and of course phil who works in folkestone now.
  
  Jim truelove yes a voice of the past.
  Always recall before becoming a cllr i was speaking to him at the flats on the folkestone road and it was my first time standing(25 years ago!!)
  He said to me when he and I get elected as in his opinion we were favourites.
  he had this plan and that, and was up for chair.
  
  Of course in reality that didnt happen, after a long campaign gwyn and i were elected, jim sadly had spent some time trying to run down the local assoc prior to the election and the people remembered.
  
  The ward now in with maxton/elms vale is very marginal to all parties(well labour and tory) have to say i dont hear owt from lib dems from election to election.
  so they unlikely to inspire.
  
  Also recall in those early days before joining council i used to visit both chambers at county and District to see what it was all about, and it did open my eyes.
  I also recall the parties used to meet up in park inn after council meetings
  recall jim treuelove buying me a beer!
