    Allexander - where on earth do you get your information from you really have some very strange ideas.

    The Afghan war is nothing to do with women wearing burkas in their own country. It is about supporting and stabilising the Afghan government in the face of Taliban insurgency. Necessary to prevent their supporting the Al Qaida terrorists with training facilities as they did previously and to also aid the Pakistani government in their war against the Taliban threat.

    Many do talk about the terrible way women were treated by the Taliban when they were in control but that is more to do with education and normal female rights than the burka. No-one suggests, apart from you, that the burka is an issue in the war.
