Great-crested Grebe

  Whilst having lunch today at Jasin's (yes it was lovely thank you!) I noticed four great-crested grebes on the water just out in front. Whilst they are not rare they are very elegant birds and I have never seen one anywhere around here before. The nearest ones I know of are at Dungeness. They are well worth watching if you have time.

  i am very unlucky at seeing these creatures, they seem to disappear the moment they spot me.
  
  i remember that dave the dolphin swimming away like the clappers after one look at me.
  
  he must have not liked the look of that harpoon gun i was carrying.
