Couldn't agree more, this government have done a pretty poor job, no wonder Mrs Thatcher described 'New' Labour as one of her greatest achievements. However I don't believe the current Conservative party would offer any resolution, just continuation of the same ideas.

Reform is needed in so many areas of our approach, from health to education. All we seem to be offered by this government is bad decisions and from the Conservatives a 'lets go backwards approach', mostly being regressive rather than progressive.

We need serious reform at the very core of this country and then at every subsequent level. Interesting that yesterday marked the 98th annversary of the Parliament act to resrict the powers of the house of lords, here we are in 2009 still with 100 or so left. We moan about the actions (and spending) of the elected but have to put up with the decisions of the unelected. In the same time period we have waited for this 'promised' reform both Ethiopia and Greece have become Republics (now thats change). And before the 'I love the Queen' gang gets going, I have nothing against her and I'm not saying that this change is good or bad....just change. The thing that made this country great was the ability to invent, adapt and change. Some of our greatest social achievements happened in response to adversity; WW2 being the catalyst for the welfare state. The problem is the provisions have not adapted with us and now no longer function as well as they should. Resistance to change could be be our downfall!
