  "Final word: haggis was a cunning English plot"-What do we think of this Ladies and Gentlemen,It turns out It was mentioned In an English Cookbook nearly two hundred years before the esteemed poet R.Burns called It our Caledonian Cousin's "national dish".Burns night night will never be the same for the"Wee Beastie".

  Its obviously the start of the famous "haggis shooting" season.
  
  Apparently it stems from a book published in 1616 about a "hus-wife"

  Whilst working in Scotland a few weeks ago I sampled some Haggis, Neeps & Tatties and very tasty it was too. I was told the best time to catch the 'wee beasties' is just after 2am in the morning when they have licked the morning dew off the heather, anytime before that, Beware! as a hungry pack will strip you to the bone in 30 seconds.

  Ah! the haggis...if you catch one it might be well worth while sampling the taste of the thing. Its wise to help it down though with several drams of something potent from the Lochs.
  It might not improve the flavour but after several of those drams you wont really care what the bloody thing tastes like!

  l ate it once and would put it on a par with tripe and onions, closely followed by jellied eels.
