i have taken the liberty of lifting this from roger's newsletter as the project deserves special attention.

it would be a great coup for the area to have this memorial come to fruition and there is a lot of work going on in the background to see this come to fruition including a planned dvd.

Harriet Quimby Quiz Night: Hopefully you will have heard of Harriet Quimby ? The first woman to fly across the Channel - in 1912, in one of Louis Bleriot's planes. A replica of the plane was at the Dover Transport Museum last week, I went up to see it and it really was amazing to think that people could fly across the Channel in it. Sadly, Harriet Quimby died just a few months after her historic flight.

There is an attached a flyer and poster for a fundraising quiz on Saturday 5th May. If you could put the poster up at work or on any other noticeboards you can think of to promote the quiz - it is (almost) essential that the place is filled to the rafters of people taking part in the quiz-night.

If you can raise as many teams as possible from friends, colleagues, lovers, fellow down-and-outs and so on, I should be very grateful. In an ideal world, we'd like to raise £500 from this night - with your help that is a real possibility!

    Kindest regards
