    Oh dear Ive gone off on a tangent there above about the financial crises again. But to go back to Street Scene. Jan makes the real point there, there is no funding for anything. And even if they change direction and/or priorities following this public consultation there is no extra cash to deal with it.

    For example one of the points raised by yours truly in my group was the need to do something about the poor state of the closed shops. The chap from DDC listened attentively but the fix rate would be at such a slow rate, due to no funding, as to make little difference. One feels shops might close quicker than they could fix them up. They might be able to afford to do say 6 in Bench St but 20 might collapse elsewhere. I hope Im not being too negative here, but without a massive injection of funding, running these initiatives within the existing budget, well it would be difficult to make a difference.
