I am not spending much time over this as it is just a quick out of the box small scale build I did for a change.

The Typhoon was designed as a fighter and was intended to replace the Spitfire for high altitude work. But it had a few problems particularly with the engine which were eventually overcome. In the meantime this aircraft proved itself to be a superb ground attack fighter, a steady gun platform that could take a lot of damage. It was often equipped with rockets.

This model was my first small 1:72 scale Airfix since I was a child. I did it as a quick out of the box build as a change from the large scale aircraft I usually do. I did not even change the overscale dangly bits!! Airfix are bringing out what looks like a superb 1:24 scale 'Tiffy' later this year and I may even be tempted away from my usual 1:32 scale aircraft to buidl it so this was a bit of a taster. No many photos, I have not really taken this build seriously and it will not be displayed.

One more - this is just to provide a comparison wiith what I normally build, this 'Tiffy' alongside a 1:32 scale Mustang which is actually a slightly smaller aircraft than the Tiffy.
