Thank you Barry, and Hellfire Corner Association, for a good weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and as always, met lots of nice people, old friends and new, who came and chatted, and helped us learn more about our Dovorian Fallen.
Part of our display ("70 Years On - The Summer of 1940") has now gone into Dover library, where it will be till the end of August. Do please have a look, and as always, if anyone has any information about our casualties, please do let us know! The Dover War Memorial Project (DWMP) thanks also the Shoreham Aircraft Museum up near Sevenoaks - we've liaised with them virtually since the DWMP started and they've lent some artefacts for the display too. Thank you, Dean and Geoff! It was all creating a lot of interest when we were setting up yesterday, and several people wanted to try the tin 'at before it went into the display case.
Thank you to Nigel Collor and Roger Walkden also, for helping the DWMP get the artefacts back to Dover
And one person we missed at the 1940s weekend? Ah Colin! We'd have loved to say hello - you were close, as you've got our gazebo (green, next to the control tent) ,in one of your pictures, with Simon talking to Nigel C. Never miind - with luck we'll catch up with you eventually!
